HCF implemented a hybrid solution related to Covid-19 screening during the Covid pandemic, which included a Personal app that allows an individual to self-screen, and a Service Provider app, where screening is conducted by a healthcare professional. The solution has been used by various clients including Sanlam, Santam, JSE, Vertice, KLM, Medscheme and the Banking Association of South Africa.
The clinical information (screening questionnaires) is captured in the cloud (Microsoft Azure) and is accessible from any location by users (doctors and healthcare personnel) with varying access and control levels in order to manage the patient/employee. Individuals can self-screen before arriving at their workplace, or screening can be done by a healthcare provider at entry.
The application flags and informs the individual or the service provider of potential risk and suggests further action, depending on the protocol used. It also allows for follow-up screening and patient management, contact reporting, and virtual consultations, and supports screening, testing and vaccination, including adverse-effect tracking and digital vaccination certificates. Comprehensive dynamic reports and statistical analysis are available in-app, as all information is digitally captured.
